Ever since the depressing news that ABC cancelled Happy Endings became very real, a lot of us have been waiting to see what’s next for the extremely talented cast. Eliza Coupe got divorced earlier this month. Elisha Cuthbert got married to Dion Phaneuf last weekend (side note: met them both a few years ago, so it’s a shame I wasn’t invited to the wedding); so far the cast has been all over the place (“First she’s quoting Miracle now she’s quoting The Goonies? She’s all over the place” this is a reference and if you had watched this show you would get it and if you did, God bless).
Well, today news broke that Damon Wayan’s Jr will be joining New Girl for it’s third season. For those who remember, Damon played “Coach” in the show’s pilot – aka, basically he was the original Winston until he couldn’t commit because Happy Endings had been picked up before New Girl. But how everything comes full circle in Hollywood sometimes is fascinating in and off itself. Anyways, Damon is set for a handful of episodes with a chance to stick around if it goes well. I love this news if only because I love Damon and want to see him and the rest of the Happy Endings cast succeed post-cancellation (it still hurts, it will always hurt).
