Late last night the video for Mumford & Sons fantastic song “Hopeless Wanderer” made its way online. If it weren’t for Vulture telling me it starred Jason Bateman, Will Forte, Jason Sudeikis and Ed Helms, I probably would have skipped over another self-indulgent, hipster bullshit video from the band. Now, don’t get me wrong: I love them. I love Mumford & Sons a lot; they’re my favourite band of the moment, but I can’t with their videos. But this…THIS is amazing.
This has been done before, by other artists, of course but this kind of strikes a chord, especially with the fans of Sons who know better. I love them enough to recognize their hipsterness and, clearly, they are too. The guys carrying the instruments through the streets kills me. God I love this and it makes me love them even more.
